This is a personal reflection of today's Advent devotion from Great News for Great Joy (download for free now from Desiring God). Please also share your reflections in the comments area.We often hear things like, the student has become the teacher or - albeit to a much lesser extent - the servant has become master. The passage from John (15:20) in today' s devotion really stood out to me because of that. As we draw nearer to the day in which we commemorate the birth of the one true Master of all the universe (no, it' s not He-Man), we would be wise to ask ourselves who it is we most serve. Better yet, ask someone else who it is they think you serve. If the answer isn't what you might expect, there's no time like the present to take a personal inventory of your spiritual discipline. I pray that you will.
