When I was seventeen and set a life goal of publishing a book, I never could have predicted the world of ebooks, and Kindle. Never thought I would self-publish a book that could be digitally sent to a mini-computer that people held in the palms of their hands (that they sometimes used as a telephone) either! But here we are. 🙂
While we can still give paperback and hardcover books to others, what about digital books? Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to give someone a kindle book as a gift. It is, however, a lesser-known fact that Amazon makes it easy to do. So, with this post, I’ll show you exactly how you can do that – and make someone’s day!
Giving Kindle Books as Gifts on Amazon
Right now, I am sure some readers are thinking that not everyone has a Kindle. That’s true. However, there are enough apps and such that you can be confident that, if you give a Kindle eBook as a gift, the recipient can read it (even if they don’t own a Kindle).
The first step in the process is to go to the Kindle version page of the book you want to give as a gift. In this instance, I am showing you my most recent book, FoodThrifting: Feast Well. Spend Less. Save More. However, you can follow this process for any kindle book (such as Listen Up, Kids, Baseball in Fort Wayne or my friend, Scott Sprunger’s novella, The Christmas Cord).
Once you’ve chosen the Kindle ebook to give, click the “Buy for Others” button. I bet you have seen that button a zillion times and glossed over it, haven’t you? That’s okay. I have, too.
On the next page, you are prompted for information – even the date you want it delivered so you can send it on a special occasion, like birthdays, graduations, Father’s Day, etc. Just enter the rrequested infor and then move along just like any other Amazon purchase.
