From time to time, I like to spotlight and/or review other bloggers and authors who are also helping others achieve a refining life in some degree. Today, I’d like to introduce to you Jed Jurchenko, his blog (Jed Jurchenko’s Coffee Shop Conversations) and his book, Coffee Shop Inspirations: Simple Strategies For Building Dynamic Leadership And Relationships. In 2 Peter, there’s a wonderful verse highly relevant to pursuing a refining life, on purpose. Verse 3:18 says,

…grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity…

This verse explains so aptly that we are to be every growing as works in progress here in this life. One blogger that I have recently discovered is Jed Jurchenko, who authors Jed Jurchenko’s Coffee Shop Conversations. A therapist, Christ follower and seminary professor, Jed offers some powerful tools from the Bible and the field of psychology to help readers develop leadership skills, relationships, and a thriving life.

While many might balk at the idea of bringing psychology into the discussion of Biblical edification, as Jed points out, “Scripture is the ultimate source of truth and contains some of the most valuable wisdom on the planet because it was given to us by the author of life Himself.” What’s more, the field of psychology seeks to understand human nature and in uncovering or better understanding the nature of humanity, aren’t we also receiving a revelation of God in at least some respects?

As an extension from his blog, Jed has authored the book, Coffee Shop Inspirations: Simple Strategies For Building Dynamic Leadership And Relationships. As with the blog, a review of this book brings the Bible and the field of psychology into alignment for helping readers lead others with positivity, courage and wisdom. It helps us know when and how to act, as well as when not to act.

In it, you will find many practical observations, strategies and concepts that will help you live, love and lead well within the contexts of home, work and otherwise. If you’re looking to further develop and refine your personal skills or deepen your relationship with God, yourself or others, pick this book up and give it a read.

Then, connect with Jed on his blog and engage in the conversation.
