SantigoldWas reading through Relevant Magazine this evening about pop artist, Santigold. It details her interesting path to her current stage in life as a person and artist.

But this one paragraph in which she comments on the saddened state of the “american dream” – which has followed an even more awkward path, but in the opposite direction:

“I think the current American Dream is to achieve fame, status and/or riches with the least possible effort or skill,” White muses. “Pretty much to blow up quick by any means. It used to be about earning success through hard work and having the opportunity to learn the skills you need to become the best at what you do. I think there is a problem when we live in a society where the end justifies the means. That is a very dangerous concept—on so many levels. And in the process, we’re becoming a nation of idiots.”
